This is simply the witness of a ‘Mighty man of God’ and will have you coveting Angus’s simple faith in no time. It certainly brought me conviction that I should be doing more for God.
There is a bit of a story attached to this book (no, really!) – I bought this book on the recommendation of my sister who lives in South Africa. After reading it I loaned it to a good friend of mine. A couple of weeks later he came bursting into my home and thrust a large cheque into my hand saying he felt inspired by the Holy Spirit to do this and that reading this book had given him the boldness to do it. To my discredit I have to admit that it wasn’t long before I was back on the phone to my sister asking if she had any more book recommendations!

I read it in the prescribed way, a chapter a day for 40 days, making notes and doing the ‘Point to ponder’, ‘memory verses’ and so forth. So many of my questions were answered. It seemed as though there was a fresh revelation on every page. I loved it! It was a very precious time of learning for me as I unpacked my Dad’s Christmas present. I have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone, though it is probably aimed more at a ‘New Christian’ readership.”
When I read this book it brought two things to mind, the film ‘LoveStory’, because we all knew there would be a sad ending, I hope it wont spoil the story for you when I tell you that the little girl is abducted and murdered so you better get ready for that, and this text: Ecc 7:8 “Better is the end of a thing than the beginning of it”. It is worth while keeping on, very much so.
Most of my family have read this book now and it has been really interesting to watch its effect on them. I must say, for some of them, it has been a profound experience. Upon reflection my own reaction to it would best be described as “uplifted”. Either way, It doesn’t leave many people unmoved.
